This week was a hard one. We all came down with whatever sickness Cambria managed to pick up in week one with the nanny. Starting on Sunday evening, I began to feel really terrible, and it hung on pretty strong until Thursday, at least that is the day that I started to not take Tylenol to get through the day. Now we're all just at the mucus and phlegm phase of it, which is manageable. Through it all, Cam has maintained good sleeping through the whole night. She wakes up to cough now and then, but really just puts herself back to sleep. What a trooper.
We think that Cam has started to wave hello and goodbye. The video is evidence. It's funny to think that she is picking up on these things, but now that we leave her and say goodbye and then hello more often than we did before I went back to work, I suppose she is getting more practice.

Now I am beginning to feel well, just in time to spend the weekend with my darling daughter. We went to a Mommy and Me swimming class with Amanda, Spyke and Emma. It seemed like perhaps there were more Daddies with their babes, which is cool too. We had a great time, singing songs and dancing and bouncing and jumping in the water. I think I'll try to make it a regular date with Cambria.
Joel, Cam and I took a walk today in the hills of Marin. It was a nice little hike that we scouted for a longer hike some time in the future. It was very hot here today, and so we relaxed at Iron Springs Brewery afterwards with a pint, and some cheerios for Cam.
Cam is getting so big and beautiful. We see her personality showing more and more with her little smirks, mischievous smiles and funny little quirks. What a doll. I certainly savor my time with her in a new way now that I only see her for 3 hours a day. I am trying to figure out where, in the new schedule, I'll ever have time for grading papers, but my priorities seem to have a new arrangement... and I don't really mind at all.
We're also trying to get her onto solid foods more substantially. My custodian walked into my room while I was pumping breast milk twice in the last two weeks, even when the sign on my door said "Please do not enter!" Really?! Anyhoo, I am trying to get her to drop a feeding for my own personal sanity and privacy at work.
It's all a part of the journey right!
:) Ellie
