We had our first week back to the grind around here. The week wasn't without it's moments, both sweet and challenging. The week ended with Cambria doing better with the new routine, but she had a sniffle Friday afternoon that has turned into a cold, and then turned into a cold for Joel and I as well. Poor little girl is coughing and has a consistently runny nose, and that's how I am now too. Zulda said that Mira had the same thing last week, so I suppose this is just the circle of viruses that we'll have to get used to. She is a cutie of a trooper through it all though.I enjoyed the long weekend of getting to have my little girl around me all day. I think I held on to her more than usual, savoring the moments.
We were able to meet up with Dominic Marcuccio on Friday as he was in town with his girlfriend Bailey. He got to meet Cambria and we were able to go out with them for dinner at Burma Superstar! Yum! It was nice to see them both.
Yesterday was Amy's graduation party and we had a great day for it. It was hot and sunny, something we haven't had much of this summer. She had a lot of people come and wish her a congratulations. In the middle of the party, Ames found out that she got a new job at a restaurant in the city. Yeah for Amy! It's a Spanish restaurant too, so her newly acquired degree is sure to come in handy.
You may have heard about our backyard visitors. Here's the deer that we saw bedded down into our backyard last week. We later discovered that she had a buddy with her. At dusk, they got up and ate and then took off. Kind of a cool encounter with nature here in Berkeley.
Week #2 starts tomorrow. Hopefully this cold that Cam has gifted me with simmers down quickly so that the week of teaching isn't too horrendous. Then, we have no plans for the coming weekend, which sounds pretty great to me.
