This weekend will feel a little weird without Auntie Jen around. We've had her close by for the last two weekends and had such a nice time! Won't be long 'til we rendezvous in the artic tundra Gigi! This is from our Thanksgiving weekend hike in the East Bay hills.
Look at this little stinker. When she's old enough to know we were messing with her, we are in for some revenge I am sure.
Cam has been preparing for the Holidays! She found Dignan's jingle collar and loves to jingle it while wearing it on her leg. We're discovering that Cam's a pretty music-oriented girl all around. If music comes on, she bounces and sways to the beat with the biggest grin on her face. Also, she has a kazoo that she has learned to play and will press buttons on her music table and then try to play along with them.
Cam's favorite at the park continues to be the swings, but she is learning how to go down the slide on her own, tummy down and feet first. Our nanny is teaching her all kinds of valuable things. Now she'll get off our bed by dangling her feet over the edge and slowly lowering herself. This is a big improvement to her former technique, throwing herself headlong towards the floor.

Zulda has also taught her to blow kisses, something we've yet to capture on film. Cam's also using the baby sign language for "more" and "need." She uses "mama" and "dada" but dada is the more popular options for repetition. Also, Dignan is something close to "doddy" which sounds similar to daddy, but daddy is dada, so we know what she's trying to get across. Zulda thinks she is saying "baba" for water, but we've yet to see proof of that one. She's getting so smart so fast! Sometimes she just mimics the last thing we've said. (time to stop swearing)

Cam has two teeth now. The second came in this week. It's funny to see her new toothy little grin. It's giving her all kinds of new confidence in eating too. Purees are a thing of the past. She wants chunks of things and wants to feed herself. Waffles, peas, bananas, yogurt, bread, pears, tofu and melon are her favorites right now. She had a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner last night!

She's getting more confident on her feet too. She's starting to stand for short (a few seconds) periods of time before falling onto her butt. Her other new trick is going up on hands and feet (down dog style) and trying to look down through her legs. Very cute.

Cam's favorite toys these days aren't toys really. She likes to get into the tupperware drawer, find a roll of toilet paper (who does that remind you of Sooz?), magazines, her diaper bag, but of course, also books. I am realizing that she needs new kinds toys, nesting, shapes and building kinds of things. And, I think we need to get this girl some more instruments.

Since the dog bite incident, Cam has healed just fine. She was a little nervous and reticent to play for about a week, but now is just fine. She freaked out the other day when Joel came home and Dignan barked and ran past her for the door, but overall, she still goes up to Dignan and tries to pet her like the buddies they are.

Tonight is Joel's Holiday work party, so he and I are getting gussied up and getting a sitter. I haven't worn panty-hose in well over a year! We're gearing up for our tour of Sconny in a week and a half. It will be good to see grand-parents and family all around.
