We need to send a big thanks to Fuz for the new addition to our kitchen. It is a very useful new surface and we thank you for the upgrade - and the considerable trouble and personal expense you went to in its creation!
We have sort of recovered from the family bout of flu we had last week... then Cam puked in her crib last night. Not sure what was up. She cried until she puked, then I went to pick her up and she was trembling and had to be held to calm down, probably because she had puked all over the side of her head and that is just plain gross. Poor thing. She's running a little bit of a temp today, so finger's crossed that this isn't stomach flu part deux.
Cam, despite frequently puking her guts out lately, is making leaps and bounds in her development. She's 15-months old this month. This week she came home with a new dance. She stomps her feet to the music when she's really excited. Pretty dang cute. And, as the video below will demonstrate, she feeding herself with a utensil! I have to put the food on the utensil, but then she gets most of it to her mouth (then to the floor and the side of my leg and the cabinet fronts and the top of the dog). I am so proud of my girl.
Her favorite word these days is hat, and she knows the sign for it too. She is using the sign for "bird" when she hears birds chirping outside. She signs for "food," "more," and we're working on a few others. I am working on "thank you" but we'll give that time. I'm not sure at what age gratitude can be expected... probably we'll have to wait for her mid-30s.
Cam also just got a big girl car seat, one that she can be in until she is 120 lbs, according to the box. That means that I just grew out of my carseat. Yikes. This world has some mammoth children. It's a facing front carseat, which she seems to like, but then this last week new recommendations came out saying that babes should face the rear until 2 years-old, which our new seat isn't capable of. Dangit.
Check out that double chin!
We have a lot to look forward to around here: Grandma Suzy is coming to visit!, we're going to visit our SoCal cousins who we haven't seen in almost a year!, we'll celebrate Grandma Fro's b-day in Russian River, and eventually the sun will come out. Hope life finds you well wherever you are. Lots of love from Berzerkeley!
