Well, I was happy to see August end, but not so happy that I intended to wait up to bit it adieu at its midnight passing. I haven't been able to sleep tonight, no doubt thanks to prednisone, so there's no time like the present for some blogging.
Today, I saw yet another doctor, a pulmonologist in SF. She said that she still hears residual stuff in my lungs, but that I should quit the prednisone cold turkey. So, now I have conflicting stories: my doc telling me that the longer the taper on the prednisone, the better it is for me; and my pulmonologist (who was very abrasive and ran 50 minutes late) telling me that the sooner I am completely off the prednisone, the better it is for me. Great! Shall I compromise?Anyhoo, while I was waiting, and waiting and waiting for the pulmonologist to finally see me, my car was getting towed and impounded. $392 + the $75 parking ticket. It is the perfect crappy capper to the perfectly crappy month of August.
I was supposed to go back-to-school tomorrow (well, today now), but since I have slept a total of one hour and it is 2am, that isn't happening. That, and I went to bed with a little bit of a temp, not much, but a good warning signal from my body that perhaps another day is what I need. With my insomnia, I turned my lesson plans to sub plans, and still don't feel sleepy in the slightest.
So... it's a great time for an update on the magical world of our 20 MONTH OLD baby girl.
Can you believe it. She is an active and challenging girl these days. She's been through a lot of changes too no doubt, with me being sick, saying good bye to Zulda, so many family members coming and going, and then starting at Dolma Daycare. She is starting to adjust to Dolma, but the morning goodbyes are still pretty tearful. She is, however, always in a great mood when we get her from there. It's easy to tell she's been taken care of well and had a great time.

Here, Cam and I were strolling the 4th street shops when she decided that this rocking chair was just the place for her. She laid down and asked for her "abba," or bottle, and so she sat their drinking her milk while I rocked her in the chair for a good 15 minutes. I had to carry her away kicking and screaming with promises of the toy store. This chair may be on her birthday list!

This is the pic Joel took last weekend of Cam and D riding in her new Radio Flyer.

Cam and Mama had a gelato outing last Sunday while Joel was at the Giant's game. We were celebrating finally getting back the other half of our baby monitor from the nanny share partner that went awry during the summer. It only took 4 different trips to her house to finally get all of my belongings back! Yikes. What a lady. We are glad we have no more dealings with her.

Cam loved the Madagascar vanilla and Mexican Dark chocolate gelato. I had to eat as fast as I could to keep her from eating too much, but then she just stole my spoon too. She is a girl after her mama's heart.

Here is Cam with her favorite Doggy. She doesn't do much without this Doggy these days. She keeps it pretty close to her during her time at Dolma too. I had to be pretty sneaky last week to get it into the washing machine, and even then, she sat in front of the washer for a good long while watching it get wet and go round and round. I like that she has an object that makes her feel like she takes a little bit of home with her to daycare. And hey, it works.
Love you all! Enjoy the pic of our gal!
