Happy Birthday Gigi!

I can't believe October is here. I am happy to say that the beginning of this month finds me in much better space than the beginning of last. Nonetheless, I am still on the mend and my body reminds me so... often.

Tonight, before going to bed, I am taking a moment to savor the little beautiful parts of life. Cambria is my meditation on such things. So, I am going to ignore all of the stressors and focus upon the amazing daily leaps and bounds of this amazing girl.
Cam savored her watermelon tonight. Watermelon is proving to be one of her all time favorites, along with yogurt, graham crackers and gummy anything.
Cam's linguistic functionality surprises me daily. Yesterday morning, I handed her breakfast and she said, unprompted, "doodoo mama." Translation, thank you mama. It melted my heart on the spot.
She is very into the human body and naming its parts. She has been into poking at peoples eyes and saying "eyes!" for a long time, but lately she's all about "butts!" She points at hers, then mama's, then dada's, then the doggy's... it's very embarrassing for guests.
On Sunday, as Joel and I talked for a minute in the living room, we noticed the rest of the house was spookily quiet. I went into the kitchen to find that the girl had crawled up into her high chair on her own and was playing with the gas knobs on our oven range. Awesome. A new level of vigilance is now necessary. Not too much longer and she'll be reaching doorknobs. YIkes!

A shout out to the birthday girl! Happy B-day Auntie GiGi!
