Cambria awoke in her frog pajamas from Grandma Sooz that finally fit her and was a little cuddlebug on my shoulder. What a sweetheart. It's hard to believe our little girl is 11 weeks old and wearing 3 month clothing already!
Joel came home from work half way through the day and we took off for San Jose to see Marquette v. Washington in the NCAA tournament. Joel had connected with his 2nd cousin, Robert Frozena, who plays for the team and coordinated a rendezvous with Robert's mom, sister and girlfriend. I had been a little nervous to take our little gal to the game, but after talking with fellow mamas, namely Sooz, I chilled out and I am really glad that I did. I did buy some protective ear muffs as a precaution. You can't completely turn off that crazy protective mama voice in your head.
We arrived and toted the little girl everywhere we went. She was wide awake and enraptured in everything going on around her. She was also quite a source of attention from all the other game goers. We met up with the Frozenas and said "hi" just before we were let in to our seats. In HP Pavillion, Cam was a bit more interested in all the lights on the ceiling than with the game, but sat in our laps with her little ear muffs on. Joel will have to post the pic he took of her with the ear muffs. At the half, we went down to see the Frozenas again in the team and family seating and they had two open seats, so we stayed down there 10 rows from the court, right behind the bench. That's when we were really glad to have Cam's ear protection. We were right near the band and the game got pretty heated, so it got pretty loud.
Marquette lost by one point: heartbreak. We got to meet Robert shortly after, but he seemed a bit shocked and sad, so it was hard to know what to say to him. Even so, it was a fun outing and cool to meet some other Frozenas.
Now, obviously you'll need Joel's account of the game to get any details about scores etc.
This was a good experience for us - maybe moreso for me - teaching us to just take the baby out and get her into the world. I can worry, worry, worry about what will happen, or just take her places and deal with it if she cries or poops or whatever.
After all that excitement and stimulation, you'd think the little monkey might sleep through the night, right? Guess again.

Ohmigod, get up here with that little chubby cheeked wonder! Now that you are miss super-chill mama we are going to introduce her to all of Portland.
