Manzanita, OR

We've spent the last two days at the Oregon Coast in a beautiful little hamlet named Manzanita. We even got some uncharacteristic weather and had a day of 60s, sun and no rain. We stayed in a rental allowing us to all be in the same place for waking and sleeping. Really, with Cambria and her napping/sleeping schedule, you see the best of her in the early morning hours, so early-rising Frozenas were able to appreciate her at her best.

Cam at her best right now is pretty fun. Gurgling, giggling, and squealing are all a new part of her ever-expanding repertoire. In the video attached, Jen is entertaining her and has her completely enraptured.

Yesterday, we trekked up the coast to go to Ft. George Brewing Co, the fourth of five brewpubs we've been to since we got to OR. Brewpubs + Joel = Happiness. Witness the photo. This is technically Joel's last few days of paternity leave, and so he has enjoyed having the opportunity to "paternalize" as well as catch up with family and March Madness!

We paid homage to a mecca of sorts for the Frozena Family yesterday as well. While in Astoria OR, we visited the original Goonies house. "ANDY, YOU GOONIEEEEE!" It was pretty sweet.

We ended yesterday with some fantastic pizza and reminisced - at least I did. The rental unit happened to have a multi-DVD set of Shelly Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre, something that Amy and I watched ad nauseum in our childhood. They are fairy tales played out by famous actors. We rewatched Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with Elizabeth McGovern and Vanessa Redgrave with Vincent Price playing the mirror. It was obvious that I got the most kick out of it, but the rest of the Frozenas–in various states of slumber–humored me. James, do you remember those? "Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?" "Lovely ribbons for sale!" It took me way back. Hilarious.

Other than that, grandparents and auntie have been soaking up spare moments of Cam and we've been on the traditional eating and drinking fest that is any Frozena get together.

Yesterday, Cam had her 12-week old milestone, so today Jen made a cake that we'll all eat once Cam goes to sleep - most likely. :)

Tomorrow we are off to Edgefield for Todd and Lisa's wedding festivities. Hope all is well with the loved ones we aren't with right now!
