We are trying to make this house-sharing arrangement work out mutually with many of our neighbors, we're all trying to let each other know well in advance when we'll be gone so that friends and family can borrow our home. It certainly will save on dog-sitting and hotel bills, which never hurts.

Cambria takes a little while while to warm up to new people these days. Her first times put in front of a new face bring on tears and frantically looking for mommy, but as you can see by the attached photos, she's starting to come around. She's had a lot of changes in her schedule lately and this last week was our first week with Zulda, the nanny we'll have full-time starting in August. Zulda is wonderful and it's going well, but those are big changes for a little 6 1/2-month old.
We've been staying close to home, taking dogs for walks and taking walks ourselves. Jen arrived on Friday night and is staying with us and maximizing her Cambria time.
We're not quite sure what the rest of the weekend will hold, but it will no doubt be lots of pictures and baby talk! Maybe a trip to the zoo or some shopping.
It seems as if Cam has been teething for months now, but no teeth have appeared to date. The video below is evidence that they are on their way. She is drooling prodigiously and has the drool rash to match on her chin. Any day now. Luckily, she's not running a fever and it hasn't disrupted her sleep enough to mention. She's still a good sleeper, rarely waking during the night but always putting herself back to sleep. Sometimes the look of relief you see when you put a tired Cam into her crib makes you feel bad for not having put her down sooner.
She's eating a lot more solid food these days. She even started gnawing on MumMums, which are like rice crackers. I think some teething biscuits are in order too. Prunes still remain her favorite, with carrots and pears a close second and third. Cam still loves to play in our bed. The games we play while making the bed continue to be her favorite. I had her laughing full on belly laughs two days ago while I lay on the bed with her and grabbed my feet and bounced next to her.
Next weekend we'll be camping at Hendy Woods in Anderson Valley to celebrate Joel and my 5th wedding anniversary. The weekend after that is another rare weekend at home and then, shortly after that we're off for a week in WI to visit with family and friends. I am half-way done with my summer school gig and the summer is flying by faster than we can blog about it. We hope everyone is well. Can't wait for visits with the rest of you too!
