Bye Bye Mimi!

Happy 42nd Wedding Anniversary yesterday Fuz and Sue!

Today we bid a sad adieu to our week-long companion and #1 supporter, Auntie Gigi! We'll miss you Gigi. As I put Cam into her crib tonight, she was still saying "bye bye Mimi!" and blowing kisses.

Here, Cam and I are playing "this little piggy."

Jen did so much while she was here: cooking, cleaning, shopping, errands, watching Cam, taking Cam to the park, taking Cam on runs, more cooking, cleaning... on and on. We are so blessed to have family like this! We love you Jen.

If this next pic doesn't melt your heart, you may not be human...
Jen allowed me to have the time to sit or nap, which I need to do a lot of, and, if you know me at all, you know I really have a hard time doing.
Our girl got pretty comfortable with Gigi too, which is nice because Jen got to enjoy the perks of having Cam love her: Cam sitting on your lap, Cam lighting up and screaming your name when you enter the room or just plain screaming your name out of excitement at any time, hugs and kisses and, our favorite, the special pouty face she reserves for those whom she only knows really well and loves. You can see said pouty face in the pic above.
As you've probably already noticed, Gigi got some pretty great pics while she was here too.

We're getting help from Auntie Amy too. Also, the Temecula Hoenes have sent us enough paper towel, toilet paper, gloves and sanitizer to last us through Cam's adolescence. Thanks guys!
Thanks to Jen's efforts, as well as Joel stepping up his daddy duties, I have had some good chances for rest. As a result, I do feel better, although we won't know what's going on in my lungs for a few more days. The challenge for me is continuing to take it easy, even though I'm feeling better. In order to help with that, Jen and I started Cam at her day care today, a few days early. Cam took right to it. She was thrilled with the millions of new toys there. She did so well that we let her be there for an hour or two without us, and then I picked her up before her morning nap. It will take a few days for her to adjust, but giving her these half days will make next week's transitions easier, and it will give me a chance to rest in the mornings.
Dolma and Tashi, the daycare owners, have such a calm, intuitive way with kids. They are Tibetan Buddhists and told us today that in their culture, having a facial birthmark is extreme good luck, and if she has it read by a Lama, it tells the history of her past lives.
We'll miss you Auntie Gigi. I wish you could come do my dishes for me right now! Just kidding... Joel's doing them.

See you tomorrow Grandpa Mike! Can't wait for your visit! We'll let you do the dishes too!

Some giggles to send you on your way.
