Our 5-month old baby is into her new exersaucer. Her feet don't quite touch the ground enough to move herself around, but she has fun looking at all the different things she can manipulate and make noises.
She's sitting up more and more and though she's not doing it on her own yet - she's still pretty tippy - she doesn't need as much support as she used to. And she's gnawing on teething rings and our fingers like no tomorrow. There has to be a few teeth poking around down there. I wouldn't be surprised if one of these days she munches on
my finger and I feel it.
She's proud to be showing off her new trick too: rolling from her stomach to back. Funny, her head is the majority of her body's weight, so she's figured out that if she tilts her head to one side, the momentum will pretty much take her the rest of the way over.
Last night! Cambria slept for 8 hours. Yeah! Yahoo! She slept from 7 to 3:30ish. Then from 4 to 6:30 and all in her crib on her own. Imagine her proud parents. Plus, as a result I was feeling pretty good after 5 consecutive hours of sleep of my own. We think it's only a matter of time before Cam cuts out her night feedings on her own and sleeps through the night. What a good girl!
Tonight was the first night that Joel and I tried to give Cam solids. Well... solids is 5 parts breast milk to one part rice cereal, but it was a new experience for her.
She grabbed the first spoon and held onto it with her ironclad grip. We grabbed a second spoon and got a little more than half the cereal into her, but who knows how much ended up in her bib.
She seemed to be swallowing more of it towards the end, but who knows how much she actually ate. We'll see how it goes in the future, but this is just the beginning of all kinds of exciting culinary experiences. If she's anything like her mom and dad, she'll be snarfing down Cheeseboard by the end of the month!
Can you tell that I'm in love?
