Big Day Out

Today was Dignan's 9th birthday, so in honor of her elderliness, we all packed up and trekked over to Marin for a hike in the hills. While this wasn't Cambria's first outdoor excursion, she did have some new outdoor experiences and displayed a love for it that makes her mom dream of future outdoor adventures with her daughter. How long until Cambria can belay me? I have visions of me and my daughter high fiving at mile 220 of the John Muir Trail atop Mt. Whitney. Ok, I'm getting a little ahead of myself.

Cam got her feet dabbled in a stream and had her diaper changed with her bum open to the fresh Marin breeze.

We took a little bit of a hike and Cambria loved hanging out in the Bjorn on her dad. She even fell asleep during the hike, something she hasn't done in the Bjorn before. We're so happy she's at home in the great outdoors. Joel and I ordered an outdoor backpack/child carrier this week in anticipation of all the hiking we'll be able to do shortly.

This weekend was banner in many ways for us as well. Amy came over on Friday night to relax with us. That same night, I put Cambria down in her crib fully awake and sucking on her fist and she put herself to sleep. In the morning, Joel and I awoke to sounds of her giggling and cooing in her crib, so I snuck into her room and turned on her mobile and for the next 15 or so minutes, she laughed and amused herself. Our little girl is growing up! She will be 4 months old, or 16 weeks rather, on Wednesday!

OK, one last picture. These are the pants you picked out Grandma Sooz and Papa Banks! Plus, pick out the houndstooth Mary Jane socks. :) Can you tell that I've succumbed to pink?
