Rough Week

The week started with four shots, two to each leg. That's no small event for a little 12 pounder like our Cam. I am thinking that must be the reason for the fussy, crankypants week that ensued. Not napping, not sleeping well... it takes a toll on her and me! It didn't help that crabbiness coincided with crappy weather that kept us indoors. Those days can get pretty long.

We think we've come out on the other side now. Cam was back to her giggly self today. Thank Heavens! We had a nice day. Some other moms came over to the house with their babes so we could hang out and allow the babies to ignore one another completely. I'm not sure when they start to see each other and interact.

Cam is getting stronger and stronger. She is able to hang out on her tummy much longer, keeping her head up to look around her. She's so strong! When she gets a hold of my ponytail, hair loss is guaranteed. Mommy haircuts make all kinds of sense now. Someone asked me today when I am going to chop all my hair off. 6 months ago I made my hair lady promise that if I came in asking for a mom cut, she would talk me out of it. We'll see how long I can hold out.

She is also simply more active. No more the peaceful nursing sessions we used to have. Now I have to fend off the flailing arms and legs while nursing.

This weekend we have a meet up with friends on Saturday, a date for me and Joel Saturday night, and hikes planned for Sunday. The weather looks to be clear and sunny from here on out - for a while at least. Thankfully. I don't know how new mom's do it if they're cooped up in a Wisconsin home with fussy babies and 3 feet of snow with zero degree windchills outside. That sounds like a recipe for Postpartum Depression to me. My props to all Sconny Mamas!
