Well, we're back in Berkeley. Yesterday was a long day of traveling, but went as well as one could wish. Sooz drove us the two hours to Madison where we met with Cambria's only living great-grandparent, Mary Lou. Grandma Lou was smitten and Cambria was the hit of the care facility. We followed Grandma to the dining hall and the other occupants were so entranced, we had to leave before blood sugar levels hit dangerous lows.
Then we met Kim Beitlich, one of my high school friends at Olive Garden. Kim was a treat and it was nice to get to introduce my daughter to my good friend.
Sooz dropped us at the airport and we bid a sad farewell. It was such a nice trip - it's always a shame for it to come to an end.
For the first flight, I had a seat open next to me. Cam nursed on the way up, slept the whole flight, and nursed on the way down. For the second flight, Cam did the same. She slept for the entirety of the 4 hour flight in the sling. I had to wake her up on the way down to nurse. What a great baby I have.
Joel greeted us at the airport and thus comes the end of a great trip. We had such a nice time that we're feeling a little lonely today. All the good lovin from Grandma and Grandpa, and now it's just me and Cam.
Cam picked up some fun new tricks over the last week. She rolls onto one side now, sucks on her hands much more and even mimicked some of the sounds we were making. We had baths almost every night and she splish splashed and giggled to her hearts content. She is now grabbing things in front of her and has a new squeal that is pretty fun. She is awake for more of the day. She is coming out of her shell. What great fun. I love her more each day.
Miss you Papa Banks and Grandma Sooz!
